Meetings auf Englisch (Language of Meetings)

Meetings haben in allen Sprachen den gleichen Aufbau mit 3 klaren Teilen:

1. Eröffnung des Meetings mit Begrüßung der Teilnehmer, Darstellung des Themas / der Themen und Vorstellung / Erläuterung der Agenda.

2. Während des Meetings hat die leitende Person (Chairperson) die Aufgabe, das Meeting zu moderieren und zu lenken, indem er / sie beispielsweise das Vorgehen (Regeln des Meetings), die Einhaltung der Agenda und des Zeitplans gewährleistet.

3. Die Beendigung des Meetings mit einer Zusammenfassung der behandelten Punkte, Hinweisen auf das Protokoll und ggf. auf das nächste Meeting und - last, but  – dem Dank an die Teilnehmer.

1. Ein Meeting eröffnen / “Opening a meeting”

2. Diskussion der Agenda / „Discussing the agenda“

Vorgehen erklären
  • I suggest we go round the table first.
  • We will hear / get a short report on each point first, followed by a discussion round the table.
Zeitplan beachten
  • I’m afraid we are running out of time, so let’s move on.
  • We are (We’re) running behind the schedule, so we have to skip the next item. 
  • We only have fifteen minutes remaining and there are a lot of topics left to cover.
  • I think we have (we’ve) spent enough time on this item, so we will leave it for now.
  • If we don’t move to the next item, we will (we’ll) miss our lunch.
